Fiona got up early in the morning. She was very happy. It was her birthday. She looked under her pillow to see her gifts but she found none. It was chilly outside so she wore a sweater and her new
, ready to go for jogging. She never missed jogging in the morning with her friends and especially when it was her birthday as her friends used to wish her and give her kisses and hugs. But first she looked at the table where her parents used to keep her birthday cards but she found none. So sadly she went out for jogging hoping that her friends would not forget her birthday. Unfortunately there was nobody in the jogging area. Fiona wondered why and waited for her friends.
After sometime her friend, David came jogging.
"Hey David, what is that behind your back," Fiona asked him hoping for a birthday hug and gift.
"Some snow to throw on you," said David throwing the snow on her face.
Fiona got angry but tried to control her temper. "Why is today a special day?" she asked calmly.
"A special day? Oh! I remember. It is the football match but it's not a special day for you," he said cheekily. "By the way you are looking stupid wearing that."
Fiona felt like slapping him but only scowled and went home. Her parents also did not remember her birthday and neither did her older brother. She cried and checked the calendar many times.
In the evening she went out to buy a birthday present for herself. She bought a small
, as she could not afford the big one. Sadly she opened her house door. It was dark inside. As soon as she got in the lights came and everybody sang happy birthday for her; her family, her friends and even David winking at her.
Fiona was made to sit in a big
and hugged and kissed. Her parents presented her with a toy
. It was a beautiful
made of wood. Fiona's hobby was to collect
s. Her brother gave her a
and a big
. Her friends gave her small gifts and the most important thing, LOVE. Her best friend, David gave her a pirate
he had himself carved.
They had a great dinner. Fiona's mom had a roasted afor them. The
