"THe Day I Got a Horse"
by
O'Brien

O nce upon a time there was a horse that was for sale. A girl was driving in the car, and she passed where the horse was for sale. She looked at the price tag, but she did not have enough money. So the next day, she went and got a job at the mall. Then when she got her paycheck, it was $350. She took the money and bought the horse. Then she took the horse to a pond and, she filled up buckets of water. She took the water, gave some to the horse, and she made iced tea with the rest. The next day she saw that the rodeo was in town, and she wanted to enter the barrel racing competition. A couple hours after that, she did not notice when she went in the house that her horse had run away. When she came back out to feed the horse she noticed that the horse was gone. So she started to cry. She looked for the horse, but she did not find her precious horse. After she searched some more, she found the horse in the garage with the foal (baby horse) she just had. So she entered the mother! and baby in a show and won.
