y life has been, so, so. Or, okay if you will. My parents gave me away when I was four. They couldn't handle six crazy children around the house, plus me that makes seven. I had been living in a shelter. It was actually fun. I had many friends, was smart, had great clothes and food, nothing could make my life better. That's when something did. I always wanted to be adopted. I had been. Eighteen times, then given away. Then my life changed. It had been a cold Christmas night. It was almost time for the ten to thirteen year olds to go to bed. I drank my milk when someone knocked on the door. The owner opened the door. She smiled and nodded. "Kate? Kate, come here." Mrs. Jackson called. I saw two people. One was a girl with short platinum blonde hair, and a man with brown messy hair. "Kate, these people adopted you last week. Aubrey and Mark. Everything is set in their new house and they want you to come with them. "Will you please?" Aubrey asked. Kate looked at her shoes. "Are you gonna give me back?" The twelve year old wondered. Aubrey hugged the young but mature girl. "You can stay with us forever. So how do I say, no?" Kate smiled. They took her home. The house was beautiful and her room was her favorite color. Blue. Like her eyes. She sat down on her bed. She looked around. She had new everything. Mark and Aubrey walked in. "We have a surprise! Come down!" Mark smiled. Kate ran after him. Downstairs was a green Christmas tree. There were loads of presents surrounding them. "Happy Christmas, Kate." They both grinned. Kate hugged them. "My life has just gotten better." She whispered to herself.
