Once upon a time mice from around the world sat in a court. This court was located in the dark hole of the wall in the house at the corner of 43rd Street. All the mice were talking of how they might trick their enemy, the cat, so they wouldn't die when the cat saw them. Then, a young mouse asked to speak. When he was given permission he said, "I 've been thinking about how we can trick the cat. The only reasons why we get caught are because we don't see her or hear her. So maybe if we put a bell around her neck or put it on her fur, we could get away in time. But this would mean we would have to be quiet ourselves so we could sneak up on her and get the bell on her neck. Thank you for letting me speak." "Nice proposal," said the president. "Who wants to speak now?" A middle-aged mouse raised his hand. He said, "How are we going to get the bell on the cat?" The young mouse said, "We would clamp it to the fur or tie it on." "The little mouse has a big point," said the president. Although he is so small, only the bearer of this excellent information should complete such a task. The little mouse looked confused and said, "I can't do it. I am definitely too small, too slow, and plus I don't know the cat well enough." The president asked, "Who else wants to do the task?" The little mouse's father said, "I will do the job because I am fast, agile, and I know the cat better." The little mouse said, "Dad, you can't go, you need to take care of me." The proposal was not accomplished and the cat remained ruler of the mice because they were too afraid to face their fears. The Moral of the Story:
1. If you want to make the world a safer place you have to be willing to take a chance. 2. You have to be willing to overcome your fears.
