- 昔あるところに羊かいの少年がいました。 少年の仕事は森で羊の番をすることでしたが、 たいくつになった少年はいたずらを思いつき、村へかけおりて行き叫びました。 「助けて！おおかみがきたー！」
- 村人は大急ぎで羊を助けるために森へかけつけましたが、羊は何もなかったように草を食べています。 村人はおこって帰っていきました。
- 次の日少年は同じ事をくり返しました。 「助けて！おおかみがきたー！」 村人は大いそぎで森へかけつけましたが、おおかみなんかどこにもいません。 村人はさらに腹をたてて帰っていきました。
- それからまた次の日少年が羊の番をしていると、今度は本当におおかみが現れました。 少年はこわくなって村人のところへ走りました。 「助けて！おおかみがきたー！」少年はできるかぎり大声でさけびましたが、誰も信じてくれません。 しかたなく少年が森へ戻ったときには、羊はいなくなっていました。
- それいらい、反省した少年は二度とうそをつくことをしませんでしたとさ。
- Once upon a time there was a shepherd boy. He was watching the sheeps in the wood. He was bored, so he ran down to the village and cried: " Help, the wolf is here!"
The village people ran up to the woods to save the sheeps. But when they arrived, the sheeps were grazing like nothing had happened. the village people went home angry.
The next day the same thing happened. "Help, the wolf is here!" the boy cried. Once again the village people ran up to the woods, but they couldn't find the wolf. They were even more angry than before.
The third day when the boy was watching the sheeps, the wolf came! The boy was scared and ran down to the village people for help and cried: "Help, the wolf is coming!" Although he screamed as much as he could, nobody believed him. When the boy came up to the woods again all the sheeps had been eaten by the wolf. Since that day the boy never told a lie.
