- 昔クラコビアに、こわーいドラゴンが現れました。 とても意地悪で、人々は羊、牛、馬などのたくさんの動物をささげなければいけません。 何人もの騎士が退治しようとしましたが、みんな失敗したり、逃げ帰ってきました。 ある日スカバという靴屋の少年が素晴らしい考えを思いつきました。 羊の肉を手に入れて、硫黄（いおう）剤を中につめ、ドラゴンの住むほら穴の前に置いたのです。 羊の肉を見つけたドラゴンはぺろりと丸飲みしました。 しかし変な味がします。 大いそぎでビスチュラ川にむかい水をがぶがぶ飲み続け、ドラゴンはとうとうはれつしてしまいました。 スカバは残った皮で靴を作り、お姫様にプレゼントしました。 喜んだ王様は、スカバとお姫様を結婚させたとさ。
- One day, a horrible dragon appeared in Cracovia. He was very mean. Everyday, people had to give him lots of animals: sheeps, cows, horses. Many knight tried to beat the dragon, but they got killed or escaped. One day, a young boy named Skuba, which was a shoemaker, had a great idea. He got a ram's body and he filled it with sulfur. Then he laid it in front of the dragon's cave. A dragon spotted the ram and swallowed it. Then he felt a very spicy taste. He ran up to the Vistula river and drank water, until he exploded into pieces. Skuba made shoes out of dragon;'s skin and he gave it to the princess. The king then let him marry with the princess.
