エミール, ウェールズ
ある夜のこと、ウェールズにあるグェント州から逃げ出した男が、大きな城のそばで
のじゅくをしていました。その城はキングブラン城と呼ばれていました。- （ブランはカラスという意味で、昔ウェールズでは、動物や自然から人の名前を名づけていました。）
- 次の朝、城から二人の少女がでてきました。 タッドフル姫とグラディス姫といい、ブラン王の娘たちです。グラディス姫は眠っている男を見つけ、たちまち好きになってしまいました。
- また目ざめた男も一瞬でグラディス姫のことが好きになり、一緒にくらしたい二人は王様に反対されることをおそれて森の中へ逃げました。
- いじわるなタッドフル姫は、そのことをブラン王に言いつけ、そしておこったブラン王は男をつかまえようと、兵士をひきつれて森へおっていきました。
- 男はグラディス姫が大好きなので戦いました。勇かんな姿に感動した王様は二人をゆるすことにしたので、二人はしゅくふくされて結婚することができました。
- 今でもゲリガーという場所に、結婚式がおこなわれた教会がのこっています。ゲリガーは水のお城という意味です。
- Once a man ran away from Gwent ( A COUNTY IN WALES ) and
- encamped outside a large castle at night. This was the Castle of King Bran.
- ( The word Bran means Crow, in welsh, but they used names of
- animals and natureistic things as people's names ages ago. )
- The next morning two girls came out of the castle and their names
- were Tudful and Gwladys. They were the daughters of King Bran and
- Glwladys, when she saw the man sleeping she fell in love with him.
- When he woke up, he also loved Gwladys, and they ran away to the woods.
- Tudful, Gwladys' sister was sly and she told King Bran about them.
- He went after them with soldiersand tried to kill the man.
- The man fought off the soldiers over his love for Gwladys.
- Bran was impresed and then Gwladys and the man married in the spot.
- There is now a chapel in the place were they married and
- the name of the place is Gelligaer.It means water Canstle.
