"Capel Gwladys"
by

Once a man ran away from Gwent ( A COUNTY IN WALES ) and encamped outside a large castle at night. This was the Castle of King Bran. ( The word Bran means Crow, in welsh, but they used names of animals and natureistic things as people's names ages ago. )
The next morning two girls came out of the castle and their names were Tudful and Gwladys. They were the daughters of King Bran and Glwladys, when she saw the man sleeping she fell in love with him. When he woke up, he also loved Gwladys, and they ran away to the woods.
Tudful, Gwladys' sister was sly and she told King Bran about them.He went after them with soldiers
and tried to kill the man. The man fought off the soldiers over his love for Gwladys. Bran was impresed and then Gwladys and the man married in the spot. There is now a chapel in the place were they married and the name of the place is Gelligaer. It means water Canstle.
