Long ago there was a girl named Sasha who lived with her aunt. One day Sasha's aunt asked Sasha to go and borrow a needle and thread.
Now there was a witch, Bony-Legs, and she lived in a hut that stood on chicken feet. Her teeth were made of iron and she could run very fast on her bony old legs. Sasha went to the hut and opened the gate. It was very squeaky. So she took some butter and spread it on the gate's hinges. Then she saw a dog. It was barking very sadly so Sasha gave the dog some bread. Sasha saw a cat and gave the cat some meat.
Then Bony-Legs poked her head out of the window. "Is there anything you need?"said Bony-Legs. "Yes," said Sasha. She went into the house. "I'm going to eat you up for supper." said Bony-Legs. Sasha was scared. "Don't be scared, I'll help you." said a voice.
It was the cat. It gave Sasha a silver mirror. Then she saw the dog. It gave Sasha a wooden comb. "Run, as fast as you can," said the dog. So Sasha ran outside, with Bony-Legs chasing her.! Sasha threw the silver mirror. It became a big lake. Bony-Legs kept on chasing Sasha. Sasha threw the wooden comb. It grew so much that could not run through it. Sasha ran back home. And Bony Legs was never seen again.
