- むかしむかし、両親がなくなったばかりのふたりの兄弟がいました。
- お兄さんはよくばって、両親のほとんどのざいさんをよこどりしました。
- 弟は小さな庭にさくアザミしかもらえませんでした。
- ある日弟がいつものように庭へやってくると、とりがアザミの実を食べているところを見つけました。
- 弟がためいきをつくと、とつぜんとりが話しはじめました。
- 「これからアザミの実を１つ食べるかわりに、金かいを１つはらいます。 だから小さなふくろをぬって、もってきなさい。」
- つぎの日、とりはまたほんとうにやってきて、たくさんの金かいがころがるふしぎな山へ弟をつれて行きました。
- それから弟はお金もちになりました。
- それを知ったら、お兄さんはもっているざいさんと弟のアザミの庭をこうかんしてくれとたのみました。
- とりがまたアザミの庭へやってきました。
- お兄さんはよくばって、とても大きなふくろをぬってきました。
- 金かいをとったあと海をこえて飛んでいると、とりはお兄さんとそのふくろの重さにたえきれなくて、
- とうとうふくろをかついだお兄さんを海に落としてしまいました。
- それからお兄さんは二度と帰りませんでしたとさ。
- Once upon a time, there were 2 brothers whose parents had just died. The older ,with his covetousness, took almost the property from parents. The younger had only the thistle in the very small garden. One day, when he came to his garden as usual, he saw a bird eating his thistle's fruit. He sighed with the bird. Suddenly, the bird began to speak: "Eat 1 fruit, pay 1 nugget. Saw a small bag and take it!" . In the next day, the bird really came and pick him to a strange mountain which had many nugget there. He became rich since then. The older knew that, then asked his brother to exchange his property to the garden with the thistle. The bird came again, but with his covetousness, he sewed very big bag. When they flew across the sea after taking nugget, the bird couldnt stand the heavy of the man and his bag, so it droped the older brother with the bag to the sea. He could never be seen since then.
