- ある日かりゅうどが鳥をつかまえて、小さなかごにいれたんだ。
- でもちょっとかわっていて、昼間にうたうのがすきではなかったの。
- かりゅうどは鳥にうたってほしくて、おいしいごちそうやのみものををたくさんあげたり
- とっても大切にしたんだよ。
- でも鳥はちっとも昼間にはうたってくれないの。
- かりゅうどは、もしかしたら鳥がびょうきなのかもしれないと心配になったの。
- 本当はびょうきではなくって、ただ昼間にうたいたくなかっただけなんだけどね。
- だって夜にはきれいな声でうたうんだもの。
- ある日の夜、鳥がきれいな声でうたっていたの。
- そのとりかごの前にふくろうがとんできて言ったのさ。
- 「わたしのかわいいことりさん、まるで音楽の天使のようだね。
- そのうたごえは本当にあまくてすばらしくて、うっとりするよ。
- でもなぜ昼間にうたうのがいやなのかい？
- 多くのひとがあなたのうたにききいり、くちぐににほめたたえるだろうに。」
- 「わたしのふくろうさん、わたしは昔、友だちとジャングルでしあわせにくらしていました。
- そこへ男がやってきて、木の上でたのしくうたっていた私をつかまえちゃったんだもの。
- それから二度と人間につかまらないように、ようじんして昼間にうたわないようにして
- いるってわけなの。」と鳥は言いました。
- 「わたしのかわいいことりさん、かわいそうだが、そりゃあもうおそい。
- 一度つかまってしまったんだから、ようじんするひつようはないんだよ！」
- と、ふくろうは答えたとさ。
- One day,a hunter had caught a bird.It was then kept in a small cage.The bird was so queer,as it did not like to sing in day time.However,its owner liked to listen its singing.So,he gave the bird plenty of delicious food and drinks to take good care of it caringly,but the bird still did not want to sing a nice song in day time.
The hunter thought it was sick.Actually,the bird was not sick,but it just did not like singing in day time.It prefer presenting its good voice at night.
One day when it was night,the bird sang again.An owl then flew towards its cage and said:"My baby bird,you are an angel of music.Your voice is so sweet and nice.I am really stunning to hear your voice.But why you do not like singing in day time?Many people will surely wallow in your singing and praise you.""Mr Owl,actually my friend and I were living in a jungle happily.One day,a man caught me when I was singing cheerfully on the tree.Since then,I have decided to be more careful from being caught by human.So I will not sing in day time,"the bird said.Then the owl replied:"My baby bird,it is no use to be careful after being caught.It is extremely too late!"
