One summer I went to India to visit my mother's family. I knew that tigers lived in India, but I didn't know if I would actually see one. I know that tigers are dangerous so I was afraid of them. But they are so fascinating and beautiful that I hoped I would.

My uncle took me one day to the deep woods of the jungle. We were in his truck driving down a path when we heard a roar above the engine. My uncle said that a tiger was near and he stopped the truck.

Suddenly a white tiger sprang from the woods in front of us. He jumped on the hood, looked at us then just as quickly leapt off into the jungle. It was beautiful and the most exciting thing that ever happened to me. I will never forget it.
