"Ananya's turtle"

Ananya liked turtles. She liked big turtles and small turtles and green turtles and even brown turtles. As long as it was a turtle, Ananya loved it.

Ananya liked drawing pictures of those turtles, but one day she decided ' I want a REAL turtle. Not just a picture'. So she went to the pet store, and asked for a turtle.

"We don't have any turtles." The man in the Pet Store said. You'll have to find one. Look by the lake."

Ananya was sad that the store had no turtles, but she went to the lake to look. She found a big, fat turtle, but it was grouchy and tried to bite at Ananya's fingers. It was getting closer to her bed time and she really wanted to find a turtle! Then she found one. A little baby green turtle, as big as her hand. It was sitting on a pink rock right in the water. Ananya picked up her new pet and took it home.

Now Ananya's turtle is bigger, and it plays in a little tank in Ananya's room. It's her BEST friend, and his name is Toby.
