"迷子になった子犬"

ある日、子犬はお友だちの犬といっしょに、あたりをクンクンかぎまわりながら、お家の近所であそんでいました。とつぜん、お空にカミナリが光って、ゴロゴロゴロと、大きな音がしました。犬は急いで、松の木の下にかくれました。空からは大つぶの雨がふっています。カミナリはまだ、なっています。子犬はウトウトとし始めました。

つぎの日、子犬はビックリして飛びおきました。ここはどこ？子犬はあわてて、木の下からはいだすと、道をわたって、お家までいちもくさん。ドアが開いて、かいぬしが出てきました。かいぬしは、子犬をぎゅっとだきしめました。

それからもう２度と、子犬はひとりぼっちで出かけませんでした。

One day a little dog was walking home from sniffing around the neighberhood with his friends. All of a sudden a streak of lightning lit up the sky! Thunder boomed. The dog raced under a thick pine tree just as the heavy rain pelted down from the sky. The storm went on and on. The little dog fell asleep.

The next day, he awoke with a start. He realized he wasn't at home and he climbed out from under the tree. He crossed the street, ran three blocks, and climbed up to his home. The door opened and there stood the little dog's owner. He picked up the dog and hugged him tight.

The dog never went anywhere without his owner again.
