それはとても悲しい日でした。ある人が亡くなったのです。はげしい雨は神様のなみだのように思えました。火がきらきらと光っています。ローレンの目からなみだがあふれていました。ローレンは亡くなったパトリシアの親友でした。パトリシアの願いは灰をある山にうめてもらうことでした。ローレンだけがこの願いを知っていました。家族や友人たちはその場所を知りたがり、ローレンといっしょに山へ向かうことになりました。雨は降りやみません。みんなは大きな車２台で出かけました。パトリシアのお父さん、お母さん、姉妹、友だちです。ローレンにはボーイフレンドのジョッシュがいっしょでした。けれども車はとちゅうで大きな事故にあってしまいました。ケガをしなかったのはジョッシュとパトリシア、それからアマンダとロバートという友人の４人だけでした。病院に連絡をしましたが、幸運なことに命を落とした人はだれもいませんでした。みんなは木のそばで休むことにしました。ローレンたちは行き先を告げると、出発しました。
ある日、４人はショッピングセンターによりました。ロバートはコスチューム屋さんへ、アマンダは化粧品屋さんに行きました。ジョッシュはローレンのために、バラの形をしたチョコレートを買いました。ロバートは買い物をしてから、みんなに食べる物を買おうと、バーガーキングに行きました。待っている間、ロバートはとても迷信深い男の人に会いました。ロバートは男の人に灰のこと、それから山に行くことを話しました。男の人は灰がとても価値のあるものだと分かりました。そこでこっそり車の中に入ると、灰を見つけました。そして山に着くまで、車の中にかくれていることにしました。ローレンたちはとうとう山につきました。雨がはげしく降り続いているので、４人は灰を取り出すのをしばらく待つことにしました。ロバートは新しく買ったゆうれいのコスチュームを試してみたくてたまりません。ロバートは洗面所に行きました。アマンダとジョッシュが灰を出そうとすると、そこにはメモがおいてありました。

その時、とつぜん男が現われて１０００ドルを渡すのなら、灰がどこにあるか教えようと、いいました。お金を渡そうとした時、ゆうれいが現われました。アマンダとジョッシュはそれがロバートだと分かっていて、お芝居を始めました。
ゆうれいが「灰を返せ！」と、さけびました。
男は灰をかくしている場所を教えると、あわてて逃げ出しました。アマンダとジョッシュは大わらいです。
「ロバート、ありがとう」と、アマンダがさけびました。
「だれと話しているの？」と、ロバートが後ろから声をかけました。アマンダとジョッシュがもう一度、ゆうれいを見ると、姿が見えなくなっていました。その時、朝日が山の間から上りました。
「朝日だ！見てごらん。なんて美しいのだろう！」と、ロバートがさけびました。
そして４人はとうとう、パトリシアの灰を山の中の森にうめることができました。
Twas a sad day, for someone had just died. The heavy rain was seen as God's tears, and boy did he cry. The fire glittered and the teary eyes of a woman named Lauren, the best friend of Patricia who had died. Her wishes were to be creamated and for her ashes to dwell the moantains. Only Lauren knew this. Friends and family wanted to know where this place was so they went with her on the trip. It never stopped raining. They took two vans. Patricia's mother, father, sister, and friends came. Lauren brought her boyfriend, Josh with her. Unfortunatly, there was a huge car crash. The only people who alright were Josh, and Patricia's two good friends, Amanda and Robert. They called the hospital,and fortunatly no one died. Everyonewas to weak besides the three. Lauren told them were it was and they went on withthe journey. One day they stopped a mall. Robert went to the costumes store, Amanda went to the Makeup shop, and Josh bought some chocolate roses for Lauren. ! When Robert was done shopping, he went to Burger King to get food for everybody. While waiting in line, he was talking to this guy who was highly supersticious. He told him about the ashes and thier trip. This guy saw that the ashes would be very valuble, so he snuck into the car and found the ashes. He stayed there until they reached the mountains. It was still raining hard so they decided to wait till they would let the ashes out. Robert wanted to try his new ghost costume on that he got from the costume shop. Hewent to the bathrrom. When Amanda and Josh looked for the ashes, they found a note that said

_______________________________________________Then the guy suddenly appered and said I'll show you where it is if you give me the money. They were about to give the money when they saw a ghost. Amanda and Josh thought it was Robert and tried to play along. "Give back the ashes!" said the ghost. They guy quickly showed where the ashes were and then he ran away. Amanda and Josh were laughing out loud. "Thanks Robert!" cried Amanda "Who are you talking to?" said Robert from behind. When Josh and Amanda looked to the ghostagain, he was gone. Then suddenly the sun cameout from between the mountains. "Look! "Sunlight!" Wow. It's so beautiful!" cried Robert. Then finally they let go of the Ashes into the wind.
