むかし、アメリカのオハイオに、オールドウルフマウンテンという山がありました。１８２２年にエヴァン・ウィルソンというかがくしゃが発見しました。１８２２年、エヴァン・ウィルソンは何人かのおとこたちとオハイオに行って、コロンバスにあるその山にたどりついたのです。

山の高さは８００フィート、はばは６６９フィートです。かがくしゃのグループは山にのぼって、もっとたくさんのことをしろうとしました。そして８週間かけて、山全体をしらべました。グループは山にいる間に、何百というオオカミのほねを見つけました。山の名前はそこからつけられたのです。

８週間後、グループはニューヨークにもどると、オハイオでくらすことができると、人々につたえました。そうしてニューヨークにいたたくさんの人が、オハイオに行って、住むようになりました。オールドウルフマウンテンはこのようにして、発見されました。

Once upon a time in the USA there was a mountain in Ohio called Old Wolf Mountain. The mountain was discovered in 1822 by a scientist named Evan Wilson. In 1822 Evan Wilson went to Ohio with some men and they came to a mountain in Columbus. The mountain was 800 feet tall and 669 feet wide. The group went on the mountain to learn more about it. It took them 8 weeks to discover the whole mountain. While they were there they discoved over a million wolf bones. This is where the name Old Wolf Mountain comes from. After those eight weeks they went back to New York where they were from and told people that they could live in Ohio. About everybody in New York went to Ohio to live there. That's how Old Wolf Mountain was discoverd.


