"Four Friends"

Ashley sat on the doorstep of her new house looking sad. She had just moved into Springville Valley and
didn't know any other girls in that area. Ashley didn't have any brothers or sisters.
Suddenly, she saw
three girls laughing and chatting as they walked pass her house. Ashley wished she knew that. She was so
lonely. At her old house, she used to play with Michelle and Louise. Now, she didn't have anyone to play
with.
Just then, her mother came and sat down next to her.
"Why don't you ride your bicycle?" she asked
Ashley.
Ashley nodded and went to get her bicycle from the garage. She cycled slowly along the path outside
her house. The three girls whom she had seen earlier walked pass again.
"Hi," one of them said shyly. "My name is Elizabeth. These are my friends, Geraldine and Megan.
What's your name?" Elizabeth asked.
"Ashley," Ashley replied.
"Why don't you come with us to Megan's garden. We can have a picnic there."
Elizabeth offered.
"Okay," Ashley replied softly.
The four girls had a great time picnicking in Megan's
garden. The four of them became the best of friends.
