"ワニとニワトリ"

おなかをすかせたワニが、沼地のそばに住んでいました。ある日、ワニはおとなりの農場に行ってみようと、思いました。

農場でワニが見つけたのは、丸々太ったニワトリと卵でした。ワニは「さあ、どうやってニワトリを料理しよう」と、考えをめぐらせ始めました。ワニがひさしぶりの食事に手をかけようとしたとたん、他のニワトリたちが、「どこかに行け！」とばかりに、ワニをにらんでいるのに、気が付きました。それからニワトリたちが、あんまりつついたので、とうとうワニは沼地に帰らなくてはなりませんでした。

ワニが遠くに行ってしまい、農場にはまた、のどかな日がもどりました。


One day in a nearby swamp, a hungry crocodile decided to visit the farm next to where he lived. When he saw a nice plump chicken and its eggs, he started to dream of how he should cook the bird. As he was about to chomp down on his first meal in months, until he saw all of the other chickens glaring at him, daring him to move. Suddenly the chickens start pecking him until he ran back into the swamp. With the crocodile miles away, the farmyard was safe at last. 


