あるところにブーティという名前の小さなイルカがいました。ブーティには、お友だちがいませんでした。
ある日、ブーティはばったりペンギンと会いました。ペンギンにもお友だちがいませんでした。ブーティはペンギンに「お友だちになれるかしら？」と聞きました。ペンギンは「うん」と答えました。２匹は泳ぎにでかけました。そこでセイウチと会いました。
２匹は「ぼくたち、お友だちになれるかしら？」といいました。
セイウチは「もちろんだよ」と答えました。
そして３匹はいっしょに泳ぎに行きました。そこでアザラシと会いました。
「お友だちになってくれる？」と、３匹はアザラシに聞きました。
「ええ」と、アザラシは答えました。
そして４匹は、いっしょに泳ぎに行きました。
Once upon a time, there was a little dolphin named Bootie
. He didn't have any friends.
One day he ran into a penguin. And the penguin didn't
have any friends either. And so Bootie asked if they could be
friends, and the penguin said yes. And so they went swimming
and they ran into a Walrus.
"Will you be our friend?" they said.
Sure, said Walrus.
And so they went swimming. And they ran into a seal.
"Will you be our friend?" they asked the seal.
"Yes," said the seal.
And so they went swimming.
