それは、わたしのたんじょうび
わたしにとどいたのは
オイルペイントのセット
まちがいではなく。

色あざやかで
さまざまにかわり、
一つのケースにおさまって
いつも片手で持ち歩ける。

ある日わたしは旅にでた。
おどろいたことに
目をあけると...
そこは、海！！！

キャンバスをセットして
ふでを手に
海をかいた
そして小さな島も。

色はかがやきにみち、
そして、ああ、その青のニュアンスといったら！
完成に近づくと、
現実とはおもえないほど！

水平線をみた
とても小さくみえた
そしてもっとよく見つめたら
それは水平線ではなかった！

それは私の絵
まるで本物。
そしておばに感謝した。プレゼントのことを。
どんなにうれしいか、わかる？

It was for my birthday that I received: A set of pure oil paints; I wasn't deceived. The colors were brilliant The colors did vary, All set up in a case so easy to carry. One day I took a trip. To my surprise, when I opened my eyes.... What did I see? The Sea!!! With the canvas set up, and a brush in my hand, I painted the Sea, and a little island. The colors were radiant, and oh, the shades of blue! When I was finally done, it was too good to be true! I looked at the horizon, now seemed very small, And then I looked closely- It wasn't the horizion at all! It was my painting, and it looked so real. So I thank you Aunt, for the kit, you don't know how I feel.
