It was for my birthday
that I received:
A set of pure oil paints;
I wasn't deceived.

The colors were brilliant
The colors did vary,
All set up in a case
so easy to carry.

One day I took a trip.
To my surprise,
when I opened my eyes....
What did I see?
The Sea!!!

With the canvas set up,
and a brush in my hand,
I painted the Sea,
and a little island.
|
The colors were radiant,
and oh, the shades of blue!
When I was finally done,
it was too good to be true!
|
I looked at the horizon,
now seemed very small,
And then I looked closely-
It wasn't the horizion at all!
|
It was my painting,
and it looked so real.
So I thank you Aunt, for the kit,
you don't know how I feel.
