Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Misty. Misty was
always getting into trouble.
One day her mother told her not to leave her
back yard. This was very difficult for her since beyond her back gate she
could see fields and fields of beautiful flowers. She wanted to go run
through the flowers and pick a beautiful bouquet for her mother.
She sat in
her back yard dreaming of the beautiful flowers. She knew she should obey
her mother but the temptation was so great! Finally Misty opened the small
white gate and slipped away into the field of flowers.
The smell of the
flowers was wonderful! She ran and ran and twirled and twirled. Quickly
she picked a big bouquet of the most beautiful and sweet smelling flowers
she could find.
As she hurried home with the bouquet she quickly forgot
that she had disobeyed her mother. Mistly ran into the house to show her
mother her prized flowers. The look on her mother's face reminded her of
her disobedience.
As she realized her problem a huge bumble bee flew out of the bouquet and buzzed up
to Misty's nose. STING! Right on the nose. Ouch!! Her mother cried,
"Oh my baby! Are you alright?"
Misty felt the sting in more ways than one.
She realized the sting of the bee was just like the sting of disobeying. If
she had not disobeyed her mother, this never would have happened!
She told
her mother how sorry she was. Her mother looked at her little girl and
wiped away her tears. She smiled in sympathy at her red, swollen nose and
told her,
"I believe you are truly sorry. You gave me a bouquet of flowers
and now I give you a bouquet of grace!"
Misty and her mother hugged each other.
The End
