"Do You Know Me?"

A long time ago there was a little cat who was all alone. Well, actually
that little cat was abandoned.
So, every morning that little cat went out in the
street and asked, "Do you know me?" And everyone would reply, "No, I do not."
So the little cat was very sad.
When the little cat had asked everyone in the
village and they had all replied, "No," she had to move on to a different city.
She walked for days and days and days without finding a city.
Then finally on the night of the 24th of February, through a blinding snowstorm, she saw a light.
It was a home to a little girl, a little boy, and two old people. They had a
barn with chickens and horses and a rooster, but no cats. At least she didn't
think there were cats.
She went up to the door, rang the doorbell, and the
little old lady came to the door. She said, "Oh, aren't you a cute kitty. My
grandchildren will surely love you, like they do all the other cats in the barn."
The cat jumped straight up into the air and came down with a flop right into the little girl's arms. The little
cat was so excited that she asked, "Do you know me?" And the little girl said,
"Why of course I do. You're the little cat I accidentally dropped when I was
riding out to my grandparents' farm.
