"Fire and Ice"

As every story should begin, I will begin mine...

Once upon a time. A time not long ago, so the even Jemadite race remember it. It was a time when King Julian and Queen Lisbeth still ruled the planet Anjumah. The citizens of Anjumah were beautiful creatures of immense intelligence and personality so bright, one would swear they were shining with it. These creatures had eyes of clear violet, blue, and green and they all looked very much like us, humans.

Marianah was a very special citizen of Anjumah. She was noted for her extraordinarily beautiful eyes of a milky brown. This was extremely unusual in Anjumah. Her skin was the colour of caramel and her hair was the colour of a raven's (an earth animal) back. She was very special indeed! One day, or more rather, one night, she stared at the sky and saw the most ethereal star in her life! It looked like fire and ice colliding with each other, making the most harmonious union.

Oh, it was so beautiful!!! She sucked her breath in at the sight of it.
"This is so breath-taking!" she said
"What could it possibly be Janduriah?" she asked the girl sitting next to her.
"Don't ask me...I'm just the girl sitting next to you. I thought you would know!" she replied.
"Why in Anjumah would I know this?"
"Well, YOU are the SMART one 'round here!"
"Oh, puh-lease! Come on Janduriah! You know I am just like everyone else!"
"I know, just saying something to tick you off! Is it working?" she smiled from ear to ear.
"Thanks for being such a great friend. Now, we still don't know what that is..."

She looked at the ball of fire and ice thoughtfully.

"Hey, why don't we ask Grayswandir? Maybe he'll know!"

"I wouldn't be surprised, let's go."

They walked to the door of the lab and immediately spotted Grayswandir hovering over one of the telescopes.

"Marianah! Janduriah! Did you guys see that? Man, I never thought I would see one in my life!"
"What do you mean Grayswandir? We came here to ask you what it was...perhaps you could inform us??" asked Marianah.
Jandariah just nodded her head.
"Well, it's what Jared calls the "Halley's Comet." Strange lookin' thing isn't it? By the way, Jared's my friend from Earth," he turns around and yells
"Hey Jared, come and meet my friends! Maybe you could explain to them about the comet!"
Marianah and Jandariah just looked at each other and whispered "a human?!"
"Hello, um, hi!" he extends his hand.
"My name is Jared. May I have the pleasure of knowing the names of you ladies?"
"Greetings! I am Marianah and this," she motions her hand towards Jandariah, "is my very good friend Jandariah. Nice to meet you! I've never met a human before."

she gives him a big smile. They all handshake.

"So, could you tell us what this Ha-ha- Halley's Comet is?" asked Jandariah.
"Well, I thought it was the Halley's comet, but I was just looking at it through my Elixor (my telescope) and I found out that it isn't. I can't seem to decipher it, but there seems to be some sort of message on it."
"Really??" said Marianah with a look of thorough interest.
"here, let me see it." Grayswandir walked towards Elixor.
"Let me see it too!" said Marianah.
Jandariah thought, 'I really don't want to be here, this is boring'
"I am going Marianah. Bye!" She left before Marianah could say anything. She looked through Elixor and saw what it said-- 'help us Anjumah! We are right outside your orbit...We need help!'
"No wonder you couldn't read it Jared! It's in sanskrit, a language used in the Kings court of Anjumah!" Marianah was genuinely interested.
"What should we do Marianah? Jared?" asked Grayswandir.
Jared and Marianah both answered at the same time "we should help them!" They looked at each other and smiled.
"okay, let's do it. I have my shuttle in the back. I haven't used it in a while so it's full of fuel... C'mon, let's go!"

When they reached the outer orbit they found a little space craft floating with debris scattered about everywhere. Marianah radioed in on them,

"hello? Anyone there? Do you need any help or assistance?" A weak signal came in "yes...please...help...give us your transport number...we will beam....to you.....just...." The citizens of Anjumah and the human all looked at each other quizzically. Then Jared repeated the transport number from the dash board "*986&^%08548ddFeiG54=79**^%$"...

"What brings you to Anjumah, Claire and Dina?" asked Marianah.
"Ooh, well...we were just cruzin' 'round earth when...oh,it was sooo horrible! It was chasing us and I didn't know what to do, so we came here...and oh!" She yelped when Grayswandir put some alcohol on the cut on her hand.
"Anyways," she winced, "so, we tried to come to Anjumah and crashed into one of the little debris and had to send a message, and we did."
"I think I know what this horrible thing you are talking about is." said Grayswandir.
"yeah," said Jared "it's my Uncle Steve."

"WHAT???" said Marianah, Dina, and Claire simultaneously.
"His Uncle Steve," Grayswandir explained "is a part of a science experiment and created something that looks awful but it's a very nice creature. Loyal as a dog and just as playful. They are just doing it outside the earth orbit so that it doesn't bother any of the humans..."
"Couldn't have said it better myself, Grays!!" said Jared.
"My name is not Grays, it's Grayswandir, Jar." he smiled sheepishly.
They all laughed.

"Hmm, that was a sort-of-weird-but-fun kind of adventure. Let's do it again sometime Grays and Jar!"
