"Moving Day"
Story by Katie, for Kanako

It was moving day. We were going to leave my old house and move to a new one far away. I looked around the house. It was empty. All of my toys and furniture and books had been packed up and taken by the moving van. Our car was loaded with things for the trip to our new house. I was excited about moving. We were going to go to a new house with a large yard and lots of animals.
Soon I heard Dad honking on the horn of our van. It was time to drive over to the new house. I couldn't wait. Then I looked outside. All of my friends from this neighborhood were their to say goodbye! I was going to miss them so much! I felt a little sad. The horn was honked again, and I ran out to the van, waving to my friends and hugging a book to read in the car. I climbed in the door and waved to my friends until they were out of site. Then I settled down to read. Sometime later we arrived at the new house. I went inside and looked around. Then Mom called us to help unload the !
van. I got my stuff and ran to my new room. Tomorrow the furniture would come. Today was full. We ate supper and I drifted happily off to sleep.
The End
