お話：ニコル　絵：めぐみ

それはイースターの朝のことです。ケイティー　ジョーンズという女の子がとてもさびしそうにしていました。イースターのプレゼントに新しいバニーをおねだりし続けてきたケイティーですが、目をさましてもいっぴきのバニーも見あたりませんでした。

ケイティーはバニーをとてもほしがっていました。それは親友のジェシカ　ブラウンがお誕生日のプレゼントにボタンという名前のバニーをもらったからでした。ケイティーは日曜日用のベストを着て、両親といっしょに教会にいきました。それからお昼はおばあちゃんとおじいちゃんの家でお昼をたべました。ケイティーがお家に帰ってきても、まだバニーはいません。その日の後でケイティーはイースター．エッグハントにでかけていきました。バスケットを手にしてたくさんのキャンディーやピンクのぬいぐるみのバニーまでをもらいましたが、でもほんとうのバニーではありませんでした。

ケイティーがお家についてもまだバニーがいません。そこでケイティーは自分のお部屋にいくとベッドの上にすわりました。お部屋をぐるりと見回したケイティーは枕の上にメモがのっているのに気がつきました。そのメモにはバスルームにいくようにと書いてありました。ケイティーがそのメモの通りにバスルームにいくと、キッチンにいくようにというメモを見つけました。そこでケイティーがキッチンにいくと、今度はリヴィングルームにいくようにというメモを見つけました。

まだまだ興味しんしんのケイティーはリヴィングルームにいってみました。すると両親のお部屋にいくようにと書かれたメモを見つけました。ケイティーがそうすると、今度は外にいくようにというメモを見つけました。

ケイティーが外に出ていくと、家族やお友だちのみんながそこにいて、"びっくり仰天!"とさけびました。ケイティーはびっくり。ピクニック用のテーブルの上のかごの中に小さな白いバニーがちょこんとすわっているではありませんか！ケイティーはかけよっていくとバニーをかごからだしてあげました。ケイティーの両親はバニーをかってもいいといってくれました。そしてケイティーはバニーに奇跡という意味のミラクルを短くしてミラという名前をつけました。ケイティーは大喜びでした。

It was Easter morning and a girl named Katie Jones was sad. She had asked and asked new bunny as her Easter present, but when she got up, she didn't see one.
She wanted a bunny very much, her best friend, Jessica Brown had gotten one for her birthday named Buttons. She had to put on her Sunday best and go to church with her parents. Then she ate brunch at her grandparents house. When she got home, still no bunny. Later that day, she went to an Easter egg hunt. She took her basket and got lots and lots of candy and even a stuffed pink rabbit, but it wasn't real.
When she got home, still no bunny. So she went into her room and sat on her bed. She looked around her room and found a note on her pillow. It told her to go to the bathroom. She did, and found a note saying to go to the kitchen. She did that, then she found a note saying go to the living room.
She was still curious, so she did. Then she found a note saying go to her parents' room. Then she found a note saying go outside.
When she got outside, her family and friends were all outside. They yelled 'surprise!' She was shocked when she saw a little white bunny sitting in a cage on a picnic table! She ran over to it and took it out. Her parents said she could keep it, so she named it Mira, short for miracle. She was very happy.
