When I went to space, about a week ago, I witnessed something that changed my life forever. Listen carefully to this frightening tale.
***** I am Maria Milano Miranda the second. I was selected by a panel of NASA officials as the second private citizen to travel into space. I was a little frightened because of what happened to Christa McAuliffe, but I was excited too. I worked really hard at training and had lots of fun.
The other veteran astronauts were very nice and had lots of experience, but never had visited this part of space. They were just as excited as me because of all of the reports that the scientists have come up with of the theory of life in outer space. I have been following this theory ever since I was 12 and now, at age 35, I finally had the chance to test my theory.
***** It was the day of blastoff. We waved to the crowd one more time before we boarded the ship. I stepped inside and closed the hatch. After a few minutes, we recieved the countdown. 5...4...3...2...1...Blastoff!! We were hurled into space, out through the Earth's atmospheric blanket. We started floating around. I did flips and had fun for a while. I got sick pretty fast though, so I had to stop. I grasped the bars around the window. As I looked out, I saw an alien just floating there in that black, vaccuum of darkness. It was miraculous.
"Stop!" I shouted. "Huh?" everyone turned to my window. Suddenly, the space ship caame to a screeching halt. Not really screeching, but...
Murmurs of awe filled the ship. The creature floated over to the window. It was seemingly like mankind in it's limbs, but had black skin, more like scales, and itty-bitty eyes.
"Wow, my theory was right!" I said.
