Story by Trevor Bennett, for Erica Holmes
The King and Queen rabbit.
Once upon a time, far,far away there lived a rabbit. He was very poor, and he had nowhere to sleep. Every day,
he walked down the streets of Bunnytown, trying to sell his small wooden crafts so he could eat. He found pieces of wood,
and carved beutiful statues from them. But he did not sell very many. He was no match for the proffesional carver's
fancy stalls. But still, he made a few dollars each day. That was just enough for him to eat. At night, he slept under a
fallen tree. It was not a good life, but he tried his best to be cheerful.
Then, one day, he found a weak rabbit. She was lost and very hungry. He tended to her all night. He gave her his own
food, his own shelter, and in the morning, she felt much better. Then she introduced herself.
"I am the Duchess of Bunnytown." she said. "I was walking through the woods and I got lost. But you saved my life. You are a very noble gentleman. I am forced to rule Bunny town alone. But if you agree, I will make you the king of Bunnytown."
The little rabbit was overwhellemd. But it took him ony a second to say "Yes, please your worship." So as of this day, He is the king of Bunnytown.
And as for the Duchess? He has made her his queen. They have many little princes and princesses, and they are all living
happily ever after.
