Story by Kathleen, for Hiroaki

Once apon a time a little boy who loved cars lived in the upside-down-world. The little boys parents thought that he should be sensible and do study, but the little boy just wanted to dream about racing cars.

One day the little boy was sitting on his doorstep dreaming about The Grand Race, the biggest race of all times. The drivers had to race right-side-up, which was backward in the upside-down-world. It was getting dark, and all of the other little boys had gone inside their houses to eat supper, but the little boy wasn't hungry. He just wanted to sit and dream. As he sat and stared he suddenly saw a race car drive up.

The driver walked out and said, "We need your help, little boy. We need you to drive thelead car in The Grand Race. Climb in."

"Sure," said the little boy.

Without a doubt the little boy climbed in the car. The driver, who said his name was Mike, turned the key and the engine roared to life. As they were driving, Mike told the boy what he needed to do in the race.

Soon they were at the scene of The Grand Race. Mike took the little boy over to the car he had to drive. It was a beauty! They strapped the boy in good and tight and helped him drive right-side-up to the starting line.

All the cars lined up one by one in their positions. The starter, who was standing up-side-down fired the gun. They were off. Everyone was yelling and cheering and trying, from their up-side-down positions to see the right-side-up drivers. The little boy was in last, but he knew what to do! He skillfully manuevered his way to the second position. All he had to do was pass the leader! The leading car was driven by an old enemy of Mike's, Roderigo. He was a very good driver, but the little boy kept going. Then, he was in first! The finish line was coming up! He won! The crowd was going wild, and screaming his name.

"Little Boy, wake up," a man shouted, rudely shaking the little boy, "Go home, your mothers calling you."

The little boy walked inside sadly, it had only been a dream, and he still had to study!
