Story by Kristina Diane, for Jessica Duardo

Jessica Duardo sat on the front step of her house, admiring the beautiful flowers in her mother's garden.

"I wish I could have a flower, all my own!" Jessica whispered.

Just then her mother walked out the front door. She sat down on the step beside her daughter.
"Did you say something, Jessie?" She asked.

"I was just talking to myself." Jessica answered

"About what?"

"Well," Jessica paused, "I was just thinking how I would like to have a flower of my own!"

"That sounds like a good idea," her mother, "Let's go to the store and get you a flower!"

Jessica and her mother went to the store. Jessica picked out the perfect flower. It was small and red. Then they went home. Jessica planted the flower right under her window.

Every morning Jessica watered her flower.

When her flower wilted in the winter, she took the petals and put them in her favorite book, to make it smell good!

In the spring Jessica's flower came back up so Jessica could enjoy it again!
