Story by Courtney Lynn Howes, "The Lost Kitten"

Once upon a time there was a little kitten named Sox. Sox was a very cute kitty. Everybody loved him except the dog next door. The dog next door was a very mean dog. His name was Buck. Sox loved to play outside, but Buck stayed in his dog house and you never knew when he was going to come out.

One day Sox was playing outside. Buck's master decided to take Buck for a walk. When Sox saw Buck, he walked up to him. Buck started to bark and chase Sox. Buck's master told Buck to stop, but Buck Wouldn't. Buck didn't like Sox.

When Sox saw Buck running after him, he started to run away. They kept up the chase, but soon Buck lost sight of Sox and Sox got away. When Sox saw that Buck wasn't chasing him anymore he stopped and realized........he was lost.

Sox started to meow, but nobody heard him. Sox began to get worried. "Where is my home?" he thought. He started going in different directions but didn't see anything familiar.

He began to give up hope when he saw his friend Sunshine. "Where is my home?" he asked her. "Follow me," she said.

He followed her home. When he got there everyone was happy because he was finally home.
