Story by Jessica Dell'Era, for Melissa

Once upon a time there was an ocean. A beautiful ocean. Living in it were fish, dolphins and whales. Everybody got along very well with one another.

One day a boat came floating by. One of the whales called out, "Hello there!" But to the fishermen on the boat it just sounded like "Aaaaaooooohhhhhmmmmm!" because it was in the underwater language.

Then one of the dolphins said, "How rude! Can't you say anything back?" But to the fishermen on the boat it just sounded like "Eeeump!Yeeookmeeempu?" because it was in the underwater language.

Then a fish said "You'd better watch out, or else we'll put a boot on your hook!" But to the fishermen on the boat it just sounded like "Blurbleboolmpbummplumboolmep!" because it was in the underwater language.

When the fishemen let down their fishing lines, all the animals went and hooked boots, tin cans, tires and other junk on the hooks.

"I got something!" all the fishermen cried.

When they saw the junk they got, they were very confused.

"How come if we can see and hear the whales, dolphins, and fish, we can't catch them?" said the captain.

"Maybe this ocean is cursed! Let's leave right away!" another fisherman said.

So they did, and they never came back.
