むかしむかし、夢見るような6月のある日に人魚の一家がお祝いをしていました。人魚たちは泳いだり、お水をパシャ～ンとはね飛ばしたり、うれしくて歌をうたったりしていました。

そのころマイケルはいつもの朝のボート乗りにでかけていました。近くには学校のいじめっ子たちが岩の上をぴょんぴょん渡っていました。いじめっ子たちはあまりマイケルのことを良く思っていませんでしたから、ある計画をたてました。みんなでいっしょに罪のない子どものボートの下に泳いでいってボートをひっくりかえしました!

マイケルはぶくぶくと海の底に沈んでいってしまいました。パーティーからぬけだした人魚の一人が泳いでいると、ハンサムな男の子が海底に横たわっているのに気がつきました。その人魚は今まで一度も男の子を見たことがありません。人魚はお父さんが使うじゅ文のひとつをその男の子にかけました。すると不思議なことに少年は深く、青く澄み渡った海の中で話したり、泳いだりすることができるようになりました。

マイケルは人魚の名前がガブリエルだということを知りました。そして助かったことを深く感謝したのです!　マイケルは心からガブリエルに恩返しがしたいと思いました。「もしわたしと結婚してくれるなら、おあいこね。」とガブリエルはいいました。

二人はそれからずっと幸せにくらしました。

Once apun a dreamy June day, a family of mermaids were holding a festival. They were swimming, and splashing, and singing with glee.
Meanwhile Micheal was taking his usual morning boat trip. Near by, three of the schools' bullies were skipping rocks. They weren't very fond of Micheal so they developed a plan. Together, they swam under the inicent childs boat, and tipped it over!
Micheal fell to the bottom of the sea. One of the mermaids had wondered away from her little party. She noticed the handsome boy lieing on the ocean bottom. She had never seen a little boy before. She granted one of her fathers spells on the boy and he magicaly had the ability to speak and swim in the deep, blue ocean.
Micheal learned that the mermaids name was Gabriel. He was so grateful to be saved! He really wanted to make it up to Gabriel. The mermaid said if he married her they would be even.
They have lived happily ever after ever since.
