むかしむかし、いちねんのはじめに、あるごちゃごちゃがありました。おやすみのひがみ〜んなごちゃまぜになっちゃったのです!　どのおやすみがどのおやすみだったのかみんなわすれてしまいました。

みんなはあつまって、どれがどれだったかわすれちゃったのだから、いちねんのさいしょにぜ〜んぶもってきちゃぉうときめました。そして、イースターも、クリスマスも、おたんじょうびも、セント．パトリックのひもみ〜んないっしょのひになりました。

おやすみのひがみ〜んないっしょだととってもたのしいけれど、ちょっとさみしくもありました。だってぼくたちおやすみのひがいちにちしかないんだもん。

Once upon a time, there was a mixup at the beginning of the year. All of the holidays got mixed up! They couldn't remember which day they belonged to.

So, they all got together and decided that if they couldn't remember which day they belonged to, they would all be on the first day of the year. Then Easter, Christmas, our birthday, and St. Patrick's Day were all on the same day.

It was very fun, but it was sad too, because we only had one holiday.
